Meeting Minutes, APRIL 12, 2005

Chairman Halsey Sprecher called the meeting to order at 8:27 pm. All board members were present. Ron Lins made a motion to approve the agenda. John Lichtenheld seconded the motion. Motion passed. The Clerk read the minutes and treasurers reports. Ron Lins made a motion to approve the reports as read. John Lichtenheld seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously.

Next, the clerk swore in Halsey Sprecher to the office of Chairman, Ron Lins, John Lichtenheld, Dave Lundgren and Tom Murphy to the offices of Supervisor and Richard Meier to the office of Treasurer. Chairman Sprecher swore in Richard Nolden to the office of Clerk.

The board then discussed new tractor bids from Mcfarlanes, Mid-State, and Koenecke. Tom Murphy made a motion to purchase a John Deer 5425 Tractor with loader for $37,887.00 from Mid-State. Dave Lundgren seconded the motion. Motion passed with Sprecher, Lins, Murphy and Lundgren voting to approve the motion and Lichtenheld voting against the motion. The Mid-State bid was not the lowest bid but their ability to provide quick service because of their location close to the Town hall was an important factor in the board's decision.

Next, Terry Steuber talked to the board about damage caused by hogs from the area near the cemetery on Prairie Road. John Lichtenheld made a motion to have the clerk send a letter to the owner of the hogs requesting him to make repairs to the damaged road right a way within 30 days and any future damage would result in a citation being issued. Ron Lins seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously.

 Next, the board decided to hold road inspections oil Thursday, May 12, 2005 at 3.30 pm.

Next, Halsey Sprecher told the board that the "Towns Board of Review was scheduled for Wednesday, May 11, 2005 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. And Open Book was scheduled for the same day from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.

Next, Ron Lins made a motion to change the time of the Towns monthly board meetings to 7:30 pm instead of 8:00 pm. John Lichtenheld seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously.

Next, John Lichtenheld made a motion to continue to use Crack Filling to help in the maintenance of town roads. Ron Lins seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously.

Next, Tom Murphy made a motion to adjourn the meeting. John Lichtenheld seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously.

Meeting adjourned at 10:00 pm.
